Mission of MSSN

The Mission of the Missouri Student Success Network (MSSN) is to ensure successful learning and development of children and young adults at risk or in crisis.

• deserves uninterrupted access to quality programs.
• deserves an advocacy organization that speaks on his or her behalf.

• each child and young adult can achieve success.
• success of each child and young adult is Missouri's number one investment.
• physical, emotional, and intellectual health are essential components for success.
• the impact of crisis on children and young adults, through effective services, can be minimized.
• collaboration among agencies and institutions serving children and young adults leads to improved services.
• services and programs should be grounded in knowledge of "best practices" and research.
• effective professional development is essential to providing quality services to students at risk or in crisis.
• community and family involvement is essential to student success.
• a collective voice of children, young adults, and families is essential to effective policy and decision-making processes of the organization.

Vision of MSSN

The Missouri Student Success Network (MSSN) is an alliance of public and private organizations, agencies, and professionals working together to support successful learning and development of children and young adults at risk or in crisis. To accomplish this Mission, MSSN will:

1. Provide support for the design, implementation and evaluation of programs and services.
2. Identify resources and/or provide staff development for those who implement programs and services.
3. Establish quality indicators/standards for programs and services.
4. Influence state policy regarding programs and services.
5. Develop regional structures to implement the work of MSSN.
6. Develop a sustainability framework for MSSN and its identified impact.
